East Hopewell is a township located in York County, Pennsylvania. According to a 2000 census, East Hopewell township served as a home for nearly 2,300 residents.

Originally the areas of East Hopewell Township, North Hopewell Township, and Hopewell Township were all known as Hopewell. It was not until May of 1883 that a petition was presented to the court at York. The petition requested that the area of Hopewell be divided into two townships. The main reason for the division request was because voters were upset by the distance they had to travel in order to get to a registered voting area.

In June of 1885, Hopewell was divided not only into two areas, but also three townships, currently known as Hopewell, East Hopewell, and North Hopewell.

Today, the Township of East Hopewell surrounds the borough of Cross Roads. As of rhe 2000 census, Cross Roads served as a home for an estimated 500 residents. The borough of Cross Roads was settled in 1844 and was not officially incorporated until 1899. The area is made up of a total area of 1.9 square miles .There are no major water sources are within the borough.

Crossroads is a small borough and is home to the town of New Freedom. The area comprises only a few miles, with a few streets, north of the Maryland State line.
